RedMagic 10 Pro Series China Launch Date Confirmed, Key Features Revealed
Google I/O 2024 to begin on May 14
Google’s I/O 2024 event is set to kick off on May 14th, as confirmed by the company. This year, they might unveil some exciting updates, including the anticipated Android 15, advancements in Gemini AI, and possibly the introduction of the Pixel 8a smartphone.
Similar to last year, Google’s I/O 2024 will be a blend of in-person attendance with a virtual broadcast accessible to all. The main spotlight of the event is likely to shine on Android 15, the latest iteration of Google’s mobile operating system, along with updates across various Google services. Given Google’s recent focus on artificial intelligence, especially with the introduction of Gemini, their flagship AI model, we can expect discussions and demonstrations centered around AI advancements.
One of the anticipated reveals at the event is the Pixel 8a smartphone. Following the footsteps of its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, the Pixel 8a is expected to make its debut with upgraded features.
Here’s a glimpse of what we can expect from the Pixel 8a, based on rumors:
- Display: The Pixel 8a is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch FHD+ display with a punch-hole cutout.
- Processor: Powered by an underclocked Tensor G3 SoC paired with Mali-G715 GPU and Titan G2 security chip, it promises mid-range performance.
- RAM and Storage: Expect 8GB RAM and a minimum of 128GB storage.
- Operating System: It’s likely to come with Android 14 out of the box.
- Battery: With a 4,942mAh battery and 27W wired charging speed, users can expect decent battery life.
Reports suggest that the Pixel 8a might be pricier than its predecessor, particularly if opting for the 256GB storage variant. The speculated starting price for the 128GB model is around 569.90 Euros (approximately Rs 51,300), marking a slight increase from the Pixel 7a. The 256GB version could cost around EUR 630 (roughly Rs 56,700).
As for Android 15, some rumored features include an ‘Easy Mode’ with larger icons for improved accessibility and a ‘Private Space’ option allowing users to hide and lock specific apps. Additionally, Android 15 might introduce Auracast, enabling users to broadcast audio via Bluetooth directly within the OS, simplifying the process of sharing or connecting to nearby LE Audio streams without complicated pairing procedures.
