Milkyway Tab – EPIC Foundation Launches India’s First BharatGPT Powered Education Tablet

A new tablet made in India and powered by AI is now available. EPIC Foundation, a group that helps others without making a profit, has launched the Education Tablet. It’s designed by VVDN Technologies with the help of MediaTek India and CoRover.ai. This tablet has many cool features and is built so it can be fixed and upgraded easily. This helps with problems like not everyone having access to technology and the increasing amount of electronic waste.

The company wants to make around 300,000 tablets for state governments. They haven’t started making them for sale yet, but they’ve agreed to make over 12,000 tablets with other companies like IRIS Global and Vedavaag Systems Ltd.

The tablet, called MILKYWAY Tab, has an 8-inch screen, a fast processor, memory options, good cameras, and a long-lasting battery. It runs on Android 13, connects to the internet fast, and is easy to use with touch. Some special features include a helpful virtual assistant made in India, options for talking with chatbots, and an app for translating speech. They’ve also made it so it’s easy to fix if something goes wrong.

Dr. Ajai Chowdhry, the head of EPIC Foundation, says they want to make products that can be easily fixed or upgraded. He says that making things that can’t be fixed easily and end up as trash is a big problem. Having products that can be fixed will also create jobs for people in India.

This tablet is special because it includes a virtual assistant made in India to help with learning and translation between Indian languages. The main goal is to make sure more schools have affordable devices that last longer and to encourage people to buy electronics made in India.

Ankush Sabharwal, from CoRover.ai and BharatGPT, says this tablet is not just a regular device. It’s an important tool for learning because of its unique features and AI technology.

Anku Jain, from MediaTek India, says their chips make the tablet fast and energy-efficient. He’s proud that EPIC Foundation’s tablet is the first of its kind in India, with AI and the ability to be fixed or upgraded easily.
