Nothing Phone 2a Leaks – What We Know So Far
Earlier this month, Nothing, led by Carl Pei, hinted at an upcoming release by updating its bio page on X (previously known as Twitter). While many were anticipating the launch of a new mid-range smartphone, the surprise came when the unveiled product turned out to be a lab coat inspired by IBM, and it was transparent. Despite the unexpected lab coat reveal, more details about the speculated Nothing Phone (2a) have come to light. Renowned tipster Yogesh Brar recently shared insights into the design of the anticipated Nothing Phone 2a smartphone, claiming firsthand experience with the prototype. Subsequently, an Android app developer supported these design details by revealing an animated schematic render of the device. The app developer also disclosed crucial information about the upcoming Nothing smartphone, including its chipset, codenames, and model number, obtained from the IMEI listing. The Nothing Phone 2a has also received BIS certification, hinting at its imminent debut in the Indian market.
Expected Specs of Nothing Phone 2a:
New pictures that just came out tell us important stuff about the new Nothing Phone 2a phone. The device will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. On the rear, the smartphone reveals a horizontal camera layout, departing from the current placement, featuring a dual rear camera setup with LED flash.
However, the Production Validation Test (PVT) unit doesn’t reveal the glyph lighting of the device. Still, the animated schematic render previously showed that Nothing plans to include three individual glyph lights.
The smartphone is expected to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, manufactured on a 4nm process. Paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, rumors also suggest a 256GB variant. The device is expected to run on Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 and feature a circular camera island housing a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultrawide sensor.
Yogesh Brar anticipates Nothing unveiling the smartphone at MWC 2024, with an expected price tag of under USD 400 (approximately ₹33,300), as disclosed by the tipster.
