NVIDIA’s Project GR00T – Advancing Humanoid Robotics
NVIDIA, is collaborating with firms like Agility Robotics and Boston Dynamics to advance robotics. On Tuesday, they introduced Project GR00T, a universal model for humanoid robots. They also unveiled Jetson Thor, a new computer tailored for humanoid robots, and upgraded their Isaac robotics platform.
Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s CEO, highlighted the significance of creating foundational models for humanoid robots, calling it a major AI challenge. GR00T, which stands for “Generalist Robot 00 Technology,” empowers robots to understand natural language and imitate actions they observe. NVIDIA asserts that such robots can swiftly learn skills like coordination and dexterity, enabling them to navigate and interact effectively with the real world.
Jetson Thor, built on NVIDIA’s Thor system-on-a-chip, is designed to handle complex tasks while ensuring safe and natural interactions with humans and other machines. Its modular architecture prioritizes performance, power efficiency, and size optimization.
