RedMagic 9S Pro Series Debuts in China

Following the introduction of the RedMagic 9 Pro and RedMagic 9 Pro+ last year, Nubia has now unveiled the RedMagic 9S Pro series with 9S Pro and 9S Pro+ models. These latest models feature a 6.8-inch 120Hz display, an overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 16MP camera setup, and more. Despite their similarities, they differ in battery capacity, and they also share many features with the RedMagic 9 Pro series.

RedMagic 9S Pro Series Pricing and Storage Options

The starting price for the RedMagic 9S Pro is CNY 4,799, which is roughly Rs 55,115, while the RedMagic 9S Pro+ is available starting at CNY 5,799, or about Rs 66,600, for buyers in China.

Both the RedMagic 9S Pro and 9S Pro+ feature a 6.8-inch OLED BOE Q9+ 120Hz display with 1600 nits peak brightness, akin to the RedMagic 9 Pro and Pro+ models.

These phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Edition chipset, designed to provide enhanced performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the RedMagic 9 Pro series.

The camera setup includes an OIS-enabled 50MP 1/1.57-inch Samsung GN5 sensor, a 50MP 120-degree ultra-wide lens with a Samsung JN1 sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. Both phones also have a 16MP under-display selfie camera.

The RedMagic 9S Pro is equipped with a 6,500mAh battery and supports 80W wired fast charging, while the RedMagic 9S Pro+ comes with a 5,500mAh battery but supports 165W wired fast charging. These specifications are consistent with the battery capacities and charging speeds of the RedMagic 9 Pro series.

What’s New in the RedMagic 9S Pro Series?

Despite their similarities to the RedMagic 9 Pro and Pro+ series, the RedMagic 9S Pro and 9S Pro+ serve as successors to the RedMagic 8S Pro and 8S Pro+.

The new RedMagic phones retain the same display sizes as their predecessors but switch from AMOLED to OLED displays, offering increased peak brightness of 1600 nits compared to 1300 nits. They are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, an upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC used in the earlier models.

Additionally, these new models come with larger batteries; the RedMagic 8S Pro and 8S Pro+ had 6,000mAh and 5,000mAh batteries, respectively. The camera setup has also been improved from 50MP+8MP+2MP to 50MP+50MP+2MP sensors.
